X-O Specification

X-O omnidirectional microphone

The X-O was discontinued in November 2016.

The X-O is an omnidirectional condenser microphone built in a rugged case.  With a relaxed high-frequency response, it is intended for use in nearfield recording on a variety of sources.

The standard output version is suited for many sources as a general-purpose omnidirectional condenser microphone.  Recommended uses include acoustic guitars and string instruments.  The X-O standard output is available in singles or matched pairs.

The low output version is intended for use as a close mic on tom-toms, snare, and hand percussion, as a drum overhead mic, and also on brass instruments and electric instrument amplifiers. Its high SPL handling and low sensitivity allow use on loud sources without overloading preamplifiers.  As it is not intended for critical stereo recording, the low output version is not available in matched pairs.
